Opening day at the zoo!

The Lincoln Zoo opened today. It was going to be perfect weather so we thought we'd take Eloise after her nap. We had to keep it a secret all day, knowing that when we did tell her, we'd have to be ready to leave the house right then! When she woke up, I asked her, "Hey, Eloise should we go to the.....zoo?" Oh, the excitement in her face! She of course first mentions getting to see the peacocks. Then said she wanted to ride the camels. I asked her, "What else do we get to ride?" She exclaimed, "The traaaiiin!" As we were getting ready to leave she said, "I'm so happy at the zoo! I love trains!" So sweet to see your little one so excited. We had a blast on this first of many afternoons we'll spend there this year.

Easter 2013

What beautiful day we had here to celebrate Easter! We tried an egg hunt for the first time, and due to Eloise being the only kiddo in the family, she really didn't have much reason to "hunt". She took her sweet little time, opening each egg as she found it.

Name That Tune!

Over the past few weeks we've noticed Eloise has picked up and remembered many different songs. She's becoming quite the little entertainer, keeping nursery rhyme tunes in my head all day...

Here's Eloise's rendition of Ring Around the Rosy. I had to teach her to play with Elmo since Mommy can only "fall down" so many times.

Over the past year, Eloise and I have been part of a fantastic Kindermusik class. She learns so much during our time singing and dancing and can now do the singing part to her classroom book.

I can't help but wonder what her baby sister thinks of all this noise. Maybe it's why I feel like she's much more active in my belly than I remember Eloise was. Baby Sister gets those tunes stuck in her head, too!
