Eloise had her one month check up last week. She is doing great! Gaining weight like a champ, she was at 9.7, so as of today, she's probably pushing 10 pounds! Here are some recent pictures from Easter weekend.
Chattin' with Grandpa Al.
Snuggles with Grammy Amy.
Like I said, tu-tu cute!
I love her lips in this shot! Just want to smooch 'em!
Cloudy. Rainy. Perfect day to snuggle up with Eloise and let the day go by.
Today has already been a great day. I got about 7 total hours of sleep last night. I'm drinking my first cup of coffee since Eloise was born. I've showered and brushed my teeth and it's only 9 am! (I've come to learn that showering and brushing your teeth are completely over rated when you have a newborn to take care of.)
It has been quite the week. We made our first long road trip (2 hours) to Grandma and Grandpa's house in Homer. She did pretty good, but we've learned her limit is about an hour and a half. But we made it. Another first was to introduce a bottle to her. She seemed a little concerned but got the hang of it pretty fast. It was so awesome to see Daddy feed her.
Nom. Nom. Nom.
Eloise had lots of visitors.
Grandma took advantage of lots of snuggle time. And Eloise enjoyed her early morning nap in Grandpa's arms.
I'm learning something, make that many things, new every day. I had noticed over the past 10 days or so Eloise seemed to be fussy for most of her awake time. It especially became clear over the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's house. She seemed to want to eat pretty much every waking hour and if she wasn't eating she was fussy. I started to think maybe she wasn't getting enough milk. When we went to our moms and babies class on Wednesday at MilkWorks I weighed her and let's just say she is getting PLENTY to eat. She had gained 11 ounces in a week! She is now up to 8 pounds 13 ounces, which is 2 pounds more than at birth in just 4 weeks! So I discussed it with other moms at our group and have decided to take out dairy from my diet to see if I see a difference. I'm on my second day so the experiment is still in the works. I will say we had a great evening last night. She was smiling at Daddy and I and even making some new cooing sounds. I'm anxious to see if it makes a difference. (I already miss my ice cream though...)
Eloise and her musical puppy. She looks forward to listening and looking and her when it's diaper changing time.
Peace.
And love.
Heart.
Here's a cute video of Eloise. Just before we started recording, she had audibly just filled her diaper (if you know what I mean). Here is her reaction...
Other news, my sister just found out that she is having a girl, due in September! We are so excited that Eloise and her cousin will be so close in age (I just wish we lived closer. Sad face.)
Eloise will be 1 month on Sunday. What an incredible journey we are on...
Daddy and Grandpa put up a clothesline for me last weekend. How sweet is this...
I must say, cloth diapering is even easier than I had anticipated. And my husband agrees. A big shout out to any expecting moms or even moms still using disposables. It is so worth a shot! And the sun magically removes the stains. Crazy.
So pictures really say it all, I don't want to waste time babbling. Enjoy...
Enjoying a beautiful spring day outside.
Grandma love. Can you count how many chins!?
Side note: I weighed Eloise a day before she was 3 weeks old...8 pounds 2 ounces. Let's just say she's got this eating thing down. (She was 6.13 at birth!)
